Default RE: A couple of hypothetical questions... What would you do?

I can recall one instance. It was in 1999 if I remember right. My dad and I had a doe tag each. We saw two antlerless deer under a tree. I shot at the one lying down, hit it in the ear. It got up, and the two started to move away. I shot again, and so did my dad, I believe a couple of times. Either way, I think the final shot count was like 5, there were two deer, we had two tags, we filled them and went home. I can remember many instances while fishing while one member of our group would "give" someone a fish or two and keep fishing. I still do, the regs even state that one cannot keep hunting or fishing if his limit is reached unless a part of that limit is eaten or given away. So, you can argue that it is legal (for birds and fish, anyway, where there are multiple bag limits). I also know of a group of hunters (6 total) that shot 6 elk. As it turned out, there was some confusion in the bunch, one person shot two elk, and another person missed actually. Well the person that missed tagged the extra animal. They both got tickets, about $400 each if I remember right. I say, people make mistakes, things happen, life moves on, then we die, so don't sweat the small stuff. Now staight up poaching, don't even get me going there!!! As in intentionally shooting an animal when you know it is out of season, and you just do it because you want the rack, out of anger, or some other insane reason. I have sympathy for the person who might shoot a turkey or deer out of season because his family is hungry and needs the food. Maybe its wrong, judge me how you like, it makes no diffence to me how others feel about my beliefs, it won't change them one bit!
