hey all, greenmachine checking in here from Maryland. Sorry for taking so long to check in, i was on a fishing trip in Florida. My season comes in the 18th of april and runs till may 23rd so i hope to put my two birds in :)

I always do the majority of my Turkey hunting with my bow, however I went out today and patterned my T/C Encore Pro Hunter...... just in case ;):D

I think she'll do nicely..... WOW, what a monster! [:-]

This pattern was fired from 30 yards using 3", 2oz, #6 Hevi-Shot, with the Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike custom choke and topped with a TruGlo Gobble Stopper Red Dot.



After seeing this, I think I'm actually more excited about killin' a Gobbler with the Encore than I am tagging one with my Mathews DXT. :D

I don't mind what we decide on for a name..... as long as we have one.

I'm starting to really like the sound of "The Tominators" more and more but I would have no problem with "Team Full Strut" either. :)

How iseveryones scouting going?
I have seen a few birds one i realy want to see again;)
ANDthe greatest news a hunter can get. A yes !!! to hunting permission for private land to hunt on. 5 pieces of property for a total of 500 acres .:):)
only draw back is need a non res lisc and money is tight. But i will see if i can swing it for this season

Cool.... it finally looks like Team 23 has a name! Team Full Strut it is..... now get it entered before another teams takes it.

Scouting is great here..... been seein' bird everyday! Seen a large croup of over 50 the other day out in the field, Daughter came in and said "Dad check out allmy birds!"..... she says that because the IL Youth season is a couple weeks before the regular season so she knows that her and her 2 brothers get first crack at 'em! :D Left the house yesterday and there were 3 hens standing there in the road as I left the driveway.... could have clipped 'em easily with the Expedition. :)

All kidding aside, bird numbers seem great this year and I'm as excited as ever to get after 'em! The season just won't come soon enough.Many of the habitat improvement projects on our property and all of our hard work seems to really be paying off on our property. We seen an impressive number f birds throughout the winter and as we continue to shed hunt. Let me at 'em, I'm ready to get outand set up our Double Bull blinds and get thestrutter decoys into some action!

Well it looks like i'm a little late on voting but Full Strut was what i was going to go with anyways.

My season Satarts May 10th and goes through May 14th. I just got in from setting out the trail cams so I'm hoping to get a few good pics. I've been seeing lots of birds so I'm hoping for good things. Good luck to everyone.

I see that several of our team members are fairly new to the forums and don't have many posts here, many even have blank profiles as well which makes me a little nervous. [&:]

Could we get a little background on ANY of you? Ages, years of hunting experience, previous trophies that you've taken, biggest turkey, etc., etc.

Just curious to see of we have a team that could put up som numbers this Spring? ;):)

Cool- it looks like we have a team name we are ready to go!!! I like the pic as well. My season starts at the end of April and I am ready for the season now. I have seen a couple of good long beards, we will see if they will work with me? I have the trail cams out and I will go check them out this weekend and see what I got on them. I'm born and raised in Southwestern PA, 22 years of age and started hunting at the legal age of 12. I've been fortunate enough to take a buck all but one season so far and have connected with a spring gobbler the last 6 seasons, hope to keep the streak alive this season....

From Southeastern KY, 21 years old, Hunted since I was 10. This will be my first season for turkey though. I've lurked around these forums for a couple of months, then i seen the sign up for the contest and decided to join.

A little back round on me - I live in Iowa-I have grown up in the archery industry. I would have to say I have been in the field hunting and fishing for sometime. I met my other half and he liked to hunt and fish as well and we have been good to go. I guess I shot my first deer at 12, and my first turkey a few years later and been hunting them every year since, I think I have only missed out bringing home a bird a few years out of all of that, and hopefully this wont be one of those years!! Its all about the thrill of the hunt for me. I mostly archery hunt but I do like to hunt them turkeys with a gun, real tricky with a bow. I dont like them blinds, I will use them if needed, but I feel confined I like to be able to run and gun. I still get all gitty when the season rolls around. I cant wait to go and getem.

This picture is one of the firsts year here in Iowa they would let you draw for a turkey tag and my deer ol dad got one, and that was the day that I got the bug and wanted to go huntin, but it was a few years before I would and could go. I will never forget it!!
