Nice bird Arrow! I'm about ready to start pulling what hair I have left out. Heard some this morning go right around me. Never did see em. Did have a bunch of deer close so that is just putting me back in deer mode. Guess I'll keep trying til the season ends. Maybe a late morning to early evening hunt may be the key

Really blew it today. Went out around noon. Figured I'd let them get their morning business done first. Got to my hunting spot and got geared up. Started walking through the cut corn and just as I came over the top of the hill I seen 2 birds where I had planned on sitting. So I backed down a few feet and went straight over the fenceline. Set up my freshly painted Pretty Boy(painted red over the white neck) and then hit the box call. Nothing! Tried the mouth call and they sounded off about 30 yards behind me. I was ready. 1 (guessing 9 inch beard)came in on a b-line for the decoy. Instead of me waiting for him to cross the path my gun was aiming I panicked/excitement/cause I'm stupid, I tried to swing. He seen me and bolted and when I fired I ruffled a few feathers but I knew I was above him. Pretty sure I pulled my cheek from the gun. Then I seen the other flying off the other way. Just the anticipation of not getting a bird for the last 2 years I think played a part in this, but my inability of self control I think over-whelmed me. TRY AGAIN next week.

What a morning hunt I had and still no darn bird. I was 50 yards from one on the roost. He went the other way, then later had 2 more birds gobbling 60 yards away. Couldnt see em the woods are too thick. Then one of them went behind me at 40 yards spitting and drumming. Darn turkeys...

Well this was the last weekend of the MO season. Just about killed another one sat. I was actually driving home and spooked 3 right by the road. I saw them go toward this feild, so i decided to go down the road a little ways go into the feild and cut them off. Well to make a long story short i called one in and instead of coming in right in front of me he came in all the way to my left. So i started slowly turning and about the time i got on him he saw something he didnt like and he spooked. I did get a shot off but it was a clean miss. Despite that i had a great season. I killed my biggest bird ever this season. And i was able to help my buddy kill his first turkeyever. Im already looking foward to next year

Tag StirFry....I have to fry the MO tags they are plastic like.....I'll throw a little crow in too...not old crow, but crow. Sorry I couldn't help the flockers...Couldn't get a break all season. I saw 5 toms all in MO day 2. Indiana I had gobbles, but none came close. I busted one off the roost and saw one in the rain don't count those as seeing toms since that were mistakes. The roosted bird never gobbled at the owl hoot. Yesterday I had two hens hang with my dekes for 1.5 hrs...no toms. i quit calling and figured they would bring them in...nope. I'd like to say it was the weather, low poult populations a few years again or even krama.....can't I just didn't get the job done. Sorry teammates!

Maybe so, but man it stinks putting in 16 out 21 posible hunting days (Including thos ein MO) and come up 100% empty....That is hard to explain to the wife and kids LOL..Yeah I spent $700 to go to MO and who knows how much here and get three pretty tags. Man....You understand the frustration Kenny. I love this stuff, but it is hard to justify the time when the bottom falls out....The other part had to be not getting a bird with the gun and all the emotional attachments that went with it.
Off topic, you think I could have killed that monster with a Tom Deke that morning????Just curious to what you think he'd have done different? Be safe!!!
