Well its about to pick up. Watch out everyone Firelt was on fire today. We patterned his gun and all I can say is wow. He definetly laid the smack down. I pity the turkey that gets in front of him. His gun shot awesome...:)

It seems this site is getting slower by the day...any of you guys having trouble?? Sometimes it takes forever to load a page. At this rate if I kill a turkey it will be July before I get the results posted.

It was fun hearing Tom and Jerry and all Eds bird gobble. Man it gets the blood pumping too. He has a great place out there....As far as the gun; all I can say is that it hasn't killed a bird yet, it was just the first time patterning it today and the Federal #6 3" shells were by far the best shell I shot today....At 20 yards my Mossberg 535 left a baseball sized hole in the target and multiple killing BB's throughout the head and neck. At 40 yards I was getting 40+ BB's in the vitals. I was VERY happy with the way it shot....Arrowmaster was too!

Yes I saw it happen. Fire your gun shoots a tight pattern. Turkeys are doomed if they step in front of you out to 60 yards. If ya shot one at 10 yards he wouldnt have a head.

Went down to the huntin ground today and seen a couple nice groups. 1st group was of about 50 birds with at least 20 of them being red heads,a few I could see were jakes,and the 2nd group there was about 15 birds with 4 beards dragging the ground. Lookin good so far.

Hey A blind squirrel gets a nut too. I got lucky but I'll take luck over claiming to be good any day!!! I think the choke was the key an SSX extended choke (The barrel was 21" and the choke adds about 3").

Had an experience this morning that really got me fired up for the season to start. Went to work this morning and heard a few gobbles. (We are located in town.) As the sun started coming up a flock of turkeys came running over to the birdfeeder outside the boss's window. There were 7 hens and 3 jakes. All the jakes were fanned out literally 2 feet from the window. So we did a little calling and got them to gobble. They hung around for about 10 min. I'll take the camera tommorrow to see if I can't get a good pic. I got 1 on my phone but it didn't turn out worth a crap. 16 more days til its go time!!

No I'd say we are looking very strong and almost unbeatable. Stranger things can happen...but the Vegas odds have us favored... HH76 they have favored to show some cyber-body part higher than Our odds of winning...

You guys been seeing any birds. I saw 3 nice gobs last night. Nothing struttin yet. I'll get out this weekend and listen for some gobbles when the sun comes up. Probably try some roostin as well. I dont think they are any gobs with the flocks yet, but I could be wrong. Been kinda warm here, so its possible...

Were leaving on April 19th. We will be ready to kill one on opening morning in Missouri. Then back to Indiana for our opener on the April 22nd. Then back to Missourion the following Sunday to hopefully kill bird 2 in Missouri...

I won't be able to go that 2nd Sunday, but I am going to try and get back out there. The next day is my wife's birthday and I can't miss that one LOL! I told her she really needed to make a better effort to be born when I am not turkey hunting !!! My brother in law and sister in law's anniversary is the first week of May...These people kill me, not that I am not hunting on their day, Jim just goes with me some.
