hey guys. sorry i havent been on. we had 3 unlucky encounters opening morning.. first, burds werent gobbling for anything right off the bat. On our first encounter, the gobbler was comin but 2 hens came faster than him. TRHey got bored with us and ran over ot the tom and took him with them.. second time, same thing happened. but it was a differnt tom and hen. I had the hen about 4 feet from the tip of my barrel.. Ol tom was comin and comin and then she went to him and he shut up. third occasion, we saw one off the side of the road so we got out of the trucks and went into the woods and after about 5 min o walking in, we called and he gobbled immediately. We were excited. Just as he started getting close, the county road grater came driving by and he was going back and forth.. just on the section between the tom and us. We would've spent more time hunting him, but i had to get back to point for a Natural Resources Exam.. Good news though, my dad killed one this morning! a really big one and he spent the rest of the day locating and scouting so I am almost 100% positive ill have one tomorrow! I'm super excited because this will actually be my first Tom. I'm heading out in 15 min to get back to the land and hunt all day for the next 3 days!!! wooo hoooo!!!!

Arrow looks like it will be cooler Monday now showing 55 and sunny and 67 and sunny Tuesday. Rain on Sunday but dry for us....I like our chances!!!

I still have some packing do to...minor stuff. I got the camo ready yesterday and I'll get the calls and after hunting clothes tomorrow afternoon. Less than 3 days till we are in the woods....maybe even done and ready for home. I got to thinking...if we do all take one on Monday, depending on the time frame...maybe we could stay and have food and fish...we'll talk about it Sunday...we will have 6 hrs and I have tons of stories (some FD some others) lke this one guy from Portage I met....weird guy....talking crazy about being in the woods with tear away camo and being a rubba dub dub brother or something like that.....

Youth season starts tomorrow in Indiana, Im filmin and callin. I hope I can get some good video. I know I will be hard to live with in the next few days. I will eat, drink and sleep turkeys. lol Im ready for the season. Its an addiction and I got it bad... Dont ya just love this sport. Missouri here we come on Sunday...
