RE: Team 5: Team Overload Thread
Don't worry about not getting them on film.
I'm sure come spring we'll watch some video of you blowing one of them same birds up. ;) |
RE: Team 5: Team Overload Thread
I stopped by my farm this weekend and I didn't see any sign at all! :(I kinda expected that though. The same thing happened last year. I saw a bunch of turkeys in the fall and then nothing in the spring. I've got a couple other spots I have better hopes for.
I just put in a vacation request for next week. Our opener is on Wednesday so I asked for Wed-Fri off. Add in the weekend and I have 5 days to hunt hard and hopefully track down a gobbler. The reports I'm getting is that the birds are fired up all over the place! I'm ready! |
RE: Team 5: Team Overload Thread
I walked threw one of my properties a couple days ago and wasn't too happy about what I saw. I had forgotten that they logged a huge section of woods out so when I got there my jaw damn near hit the ground. It looked like Hurricane Katrina went threw the place!
Not sure when there coming back to haul the logs out but I know that it has altered the deer movement. I couldn't find a deer track within 150 yards or so of the main logged out section. This is a good section too, I had a encounter with a beautiful main frame 10 with a spilt G-2 that easily would gross mid 160's.Gorgeous deerwith a nice rack and on top of it all he was still in velvet in when Isaw him on October 16th. Wouldv'e made a great trophy if he wouldv'e been a little bit closer. [X(] I did cross a lot of yote and what looked like a wolf track tho. I guess only we'll see what unfolds there as far as hunting. I got better spots for turkeys but this place is a great deer woods and I'm fearing that it will take a year or two before the deer adjust to logging. Oh well... |
