RE: ALABAMA RUT TIMES
I hunt about 8 miles out of Seale.Spent Dec. 18-20 and Dec. 26 - Jan. 1 hunting. Some doe "bumping" and "running" going on.Makes me think many of thedoes around thereare close to a full blown estrus.
FYI - In general, deer movement really picked up around 08:30 a.m. and stayed pretty good until about 10:30 a.m. Middle of the day, at least where I chose to set up in the woods, was more or less "dead". Starting about 3:00 p.m. movement really picked up.It was excellent late in the day - 5:00 p.m. on. I'd say 4X to 5X the movement from 3:00 p.m. until dark:30 than any other 3-4-5 hour period of time. That was the pattern I saw.
I'd be interested to know what you observe.
