How long to kill ticks in freezer?
I shot a basket racked 8 point to use as a learning attempt. It was totally infested with keds and ticks. I skinned it and put it in the freezer to kill the bugs before I go on to fleshing and splitting. How long does it usually take to adaquately kill all parasites on a cape in the freezer?
Oh, where is Bill Yox when I need him most? I heard elsewhere that his computer crashed. Maybe we should kick in and get him a new one so we can get back to picking his brain .

i'd say about 48 hours, depending on the size of your freezer. ticks and parasites don't become any "deader" once they are frozen for a longer time. so as soon as your freezer can initially freeze them, they are dead.

Actually if you freeze bugs they will indeed die but if they are just chilled or really cold but not frozen they dont move at all so they can conserve energy a kind of hibernation(if you have bought worms or maggots or mealworms for fishing you would notice they are kept in a fridge which helps preserve them in a way and as they get warmer they get the more active they get) which may make them appear to be dead so to kill them i say in a nice frozen freezer 24hrs should be more then enough to kill them off.
