I'm not sure I understand the question, but if I do, as long as you have it wrapped well in plactic, you can keep it there for a long time with no trouble.

If the head is skinned and not tanned yet it will keep for quite a long time, But you should skin the head first, Im not sure how long it will stay in the freezer if they arent skinned first. Plus It will be much easier to skin when you first get the deer and dont freeze it first then try to skin it.

I always heard a taxidermist friend of mine say it's really important to keep the ears wrapped more than other parts of the head b/c they get frost bite quicker....good luck...

The ears can definatlely be a problem. I freind of mine shot a nice 8 pointer and kept it in the freezer for a year and a half before he decided to have my brother in law mount it recently for him. The ears were so frostbitten that the hair on the inside fell out and the hitde turned black. The taxidermist did what he could and airbrushed the insides of the ears as well as he could. All in all, it came out good, but that was pushing it. The nose also lost some of its skin due to frost bite.

My last mount was a hide I got from the taxidermist. He stated that he happened to find it in the bottom of the freezer. Looks good! Don't know how long he had it in there though.
