Best pointing dog for apartment living?
Hi :-)
I am new to this site, and I had like hear some input on breed selection. Because of my work situation I am currently living in an apartment on the outskirts of a medium sized city, but with lots of opportunities for hiking and outdoors experiences.
I want a pointing dog, primarily for hunting ptarmigan but I wouldn't mind to try hunting for new game (waterfowl particularly). Previously I have had English Setters, and I have a real appreciation for their temperament and the width of their search. From hunting with friends I have experience with Gordon Setters and Brittanies. It will be used for hunting and I have no problem meeting its daily exercise requirements.
My big hangup is that it will be alone in a 70 square meter apartment for 6 hours a day five days a week (during the weekend it will tag along to my cottage and have lots of room to roam).
I want my dog to be happy and therefore I had like some input on which pointing breed that is best suited for weekdays in an apartment.

This will be a little biased, but I love the Pointing Labrador. I own 3 and will soon have a 4th. Another person who is on this forum has them and does both upland and waterfowl with his in Washington State.
