Simmons Whitetail Expedition 3x9x42 vs. Simmons Aetec 3.8x12x44
Both of these have Simmons aespherical lense system and both have fully multi-coated lenses. I think the Whitetail Expedition is Simmons top of the line and the Aetec is the nxt in line, but not sure. Looking for opinions on which is better for the $$$$$$. What is the deal on the aespherical lense system. I understand it was or is used on high quality cameras and it gives a clear, flat and bright picture. But can't find anything anything else on it. And can a 44mm scope be mounted with a low mounting scope base and rings? Thanks, Scott Woody

lswoody- I have an Aetec on my T/C Encore and I like the scope very much. Plenty of light, a crisp image, and a good buy for the money in my opinion.
As far as the mounts, mine are mediums because the low mounts were a no-go.
The Simmons Whitetail Expedition is a little bit more expensive than the Aetec, but I have no idea why.
