I had a Ruger All Weather in 30-06 and it shot fine. The only downside is if you're recoil shy. I had to sell it due to shoulder surgery. Aside from some single-shots, it had more recoil than any other 06 I've shot. As for quality, its as good or better than the Black Shadow. Just my .02.

I have a Ruger 77 Mk II All Weather in 270 Win. I love it. I has quickly become my go to gun.

I prefer the Ruger over the Winchester ,It has a smoother action in my opinion and I don't care for a black matte finish on a rifle

Ruger makes a quality rifle, easily as good as win or rem,IMO. Like all mass-produced firearms, some have the occassional problem. However, if you take reasonable care of the gun and find ammo that it "likes", you will have a gun for life.
Good Hunting,

I would not hesitate to go with the Ruger over the Win. Black Shadow. You'll be getting a better gun IMO. I have owned several Rugers of all types and have never been disappointed with any of them. I think they represent one of the best values in the firearms industry today.

Same here. I think they are both fine rifles but I prefer the Ruger.
