Stoeger 3020 20 gauge
#2
My dad has the 12ga. version of this gun, I believe---it kicks harder than a gas-operated 12ga, because the gun has an "intertia-operated" (read: recoil-driven) action. That said, there is a recoil-reducing accessory for the m3000/3500 and the m2000, which is a mercury tube that is inserted into the buttstock (presumably to add weight). I do not see such an accessory for the 3020 on Stoeger's website, however.
Check to make sure the gun you're looking at has porting near the muzzle, as this will also reduce kick significantly. And, additionally, you can buy lighter rounds for less kick, and put on a recoil pad if kick is still a problem.
Considering the price isn't much different, you might consider getting the Remington 11-87 in 20ga. instead. They're running a mail-in rebate right now, if I'm not mistaken. It's a heavier (7.5lbs. instead of 5.7, which'll reduce recoil) and the gas-operated action should also reduce kick without having to bother with selecting light loads or getting a recoil pad.
