Default Dednutz scope ring/base vs Talley LW

I took a picture of both types that I have so you can draw comparisons.

I put a set of those DeadNutz on one of my buddies rifles, he had been using see throughs with a cheap scope...I talked him into a Leupold and was planning to go with their dual dovetails but nobody had them locally...We went with the DeadNutz and sighted him in last fall, no problems...

I use a setup on T/C Omega that is very similar to the DeadNutz setup. It is the T/C DuoRing onepiece base and rings. Put it on 3 or 4 years ago and have had zero problems. I looked at the DeadNutz setup at the Greensboro Gander Mtn last fall. Looked like it would be a sturdy mount.

I like a 2-pc set-up on my bolt action rifles. I have several sets of Talley LW's currently in use, without issue, so they are easily my first choice for a new rifle.

I doubt there is enough difference between the 2 weightwise to make any difference but I can tell you which one is better machined and more robust. Hint it's not the one that I had to lap

Well, I ordered up a set of the DedNutz mounts for a Model 7 today. I liked the fact that the DedNutz offer an extra-low variety, so I figured I would give them a try. I really like the 2-pc Talley's, but I'm willing to try something new.

I like the look of the DedNutz, I just wish they used two cap screws instead of one...probably not a big deal though.
