Reads simply like that person got a bad rifle, which is out of the norm for savage/stevens.

I've only owned two Savages in my life...very happy with both!

I have aSavage7mm mag that is just great, that is why I ordered another Savage, a 16FSSin 22-250. If it is as accurate "out of the box" as the 7 mag I will most definately purchase more Savages.

There is a rule that applies to all firearms, not just Savage: You must absolutely be at least 3% smarter than the firearm, in order to safely and reliably operate said firearm.
