I just gotta ask . . . Why the 500 in a rifle?
I'm only interested because of my state's and hunting zones regulations. Is a rifle worth it or should I just get the revolver...thatis the question, we're limited to straight walled cartridges with a maximum case length of 1.8". Or just hunt with shotguns, archery or muzzle loaders in my zone. (Southern Michigan farm land)

You will get around 300-400fps more from the rifle vs a revolver. So 300gr FTX factory load will give you around 2300fps+. A 350gr can get into the 2100fps range without much trouble.
