Default Returning to scrapes and rubs?

I was wondering how much or often a deer will return to scrapes and rubs it has left during the rut? I ve seen them around my stands and was wondering if they do come back to these scrapes or rubs. Thanks!!

Maybe.

Maybe not.

This is why I don't hunt deer sign. I KNOW they'll go where the does are, though.....wherever they go.

Rubs and scrapes are usually placed along a buck's or if you are lucky, many bucks' travel routes. Both bucks and does will hit scrapes and one scrape may get used by several different deer. When hunting new areas, rubs and scrapes are a great place to start because you KNOW that there is a buck there. Also, rubs can give you SOME indication of the size of a buck. Big bucks can rub little trees, but usually little bucks don't rub big trees. Stand placement can always be tweeked, but starting near a good amount of buck sign is the way to go IMO. Once you know the area intimately, you can move the stand accordingly if necessary.
