Fortunately here in PA during our primitive season we usually have snow. Back in the day when we could only use PRB we've tracked several "perfectly hit" deer with only a drop or two of blood and found them within 100-200 yards. And yes the hits were good ones.
But on a side note, my friend and I would normally do small pushes for each other and weren't shooting deer that were calm and just walking through the woods. These deer were on the escape and were "pumped up".
