RE: Pyrodex is this stuff still popular?
I guess one good thing is when I started shooting BP I was told that I absolutely HAD to clean the gun immediately after shooting. I still do it no matter what I shoot. I do know the Pyro is a longer cleanup time compared to others. I guess though the T7 and Pyro are what I have shot the majority of and that damned crud ring leaving T7 sure does shoot well despite the mess. I also use nothing but Dyno Nobel caps for hunting.

wabi
I know what you mean -Moscow, Id is a University town and we have some sporting goods stores here but very limited in ML supplies... I end going south 30 miles to Lewiston for somewhat better supply or north 95 miles to Coeur D' Alene or Spokane for good supplies. If you get to a town/city that has better sup;lies you might try some 3f + you can always shoot it in your inlines...

IMO there is very little difference in the cleanup time for Pyrodex vs 777. The last thing that I do before leaving the range is toswab the bore with apatch saturated with Windex with vinegar. This does a good jobof getting the fouling and crud softened up: It also helps with breech plug removal. At home it takesabout10minutes to remove the breechplug, clean the breech plug, clean and lube the bore, oil the metal partsand re-assemble the gun.
