Default Traditions Lightning 45LD or CVA Firebolt209 Ultra

I'm trying to narrow my search for a good gun from a good company. I've already studied T/C products, and now two guns here that I wonder if any of you have first-hand experience with:
Traditions Lightning 45LD
CVA Firebolt 209 UltraMag(can you tell any difference in the recoil with the resin-filled stock?)
Do the companies back up their product?
Thanks and see you in the woods.

Traditions has good customer service. Get the .50 caliber.

1950KID,
Thanks for the word on Traditions. You've had dealings with them?
I read an awful lot last night about the problems manufacturers and shooters are having with the 45cal. with 1/20" twist, so will steer away from the 1/20". How about the 45cal with 1/30" or 1/32" twist?
It does seem like 50cal. is the standard right now.

Have both guns as well as a Knight Disk. The CVA 45 Ultra shots 1.5 in. groups with Preceision Dead Center 200 grainers and 100 grains of 777. The Traditons 50 LD Likes Powerbelts 295gr. pushed by 100gr.-2pellets also stays within a 1.5 group. Cva is a little easier to take apart.

I have a .50 CVA Firebolt. Using 100 grains of Pyrodex pellets and the powerbelt 295 gr bullets cost two deer their lives. One was a 208lb hog dressed 5 x 5(on a scale not by guess) the other was a 5 x 5 155 lb both dropped in their tracks. Shots were under 50 yds. I like the ease of cleaning after using but I still like to use my T/C Hawken also.

Thanks, guys for the info. The voice of experience goes a long way.
I know that T/C touts their "flamethrower" ignition system, but by the performance you guys have experienced with your Firebolts, its nipple must put a lot of fire to ignite as well...............?
Thanks again

I have had several CVA's and Im very happy with the way they shoot and the service department is Great. Im hunting with a CVA fire bolt 209 ultramag now using 90gr of triple 7 and 245 CVA HP power belts It grops great at 100yd the recoil is mild with easy clean up. It also has a 3lb factory trigger

3DNWV-appreciate the input-especially from someone actually using a Firebolt UltraMag. Do you think a Bushnell Sportview strait6power scope would handle the shock from the gun?
How did that light of a bullet work on deer? I'm talking about shooting out of that gun. I like lighter bullets.
Thanks for writing.

Hate to say it but so far this week dont know how it works on deer havnt had a decent shot in the last 2 days and today its raining and fog so I didnt go out might this after noon. last yr I used the TC 245gr sabot and they work great on deer. [I have used the sabot for yrs]. As for scope I have a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5X10X40 On my CVA wich I like alot and this scope has been on several of my guns including a .300win mag and has never given me a problem. Last week I put a sportview 3X9 on my buddies CVA and sighted it in for him so far it has held up and has had about50 shoots with pirodex 90grs under 245gr power belt. I have used fixed 6 powers on a few on my other guns and like them but jsut prefer the varables now days because my eyes arnt as good as they use to be. hope this helps

I personally have never shot anything with more kick than a slug from a 12 gauge shotgun, and people put scopes on them all of the time. Those slugs kicked WAY more than my CVA Hunterbolt .50. So, yes I hope the scope can handle it.
