Options for Mounting a 1x Scope
In Wisconsin, we cannot hunt with scopes over 1x.Are there any tricks to mounting a 1x scope so that you cannot see the barrel? Is it just a matter of getting the extra high (see through) mounts or does something else need to be done?

RE: Options for Mounting a 1x Scope
Normally you have to take the sights off the rifle and you will still see the tip of the rifle. I have a 1.5-4.5X32mm on my Black Diamond XR and can see the front sight plain as day on low power. You just get used to it. On my RED DOT I also see the scope. You just need to learn to over look the barrel and sight is all. I am not sure if I would be mounting the scope too high up. You're going to have to take the sights off if they bother you, and there is no benifit of a high mount in that case.
Practice, and you will learn to look over it.

Cayugad - Thanks for the info.
I was actually posting the question for a friend that just bought a new muzzleloader. I don't think he plans on mounting a red dot scope. He is looking for something with fine crosshairs and I am not sure if that affects the field of view. Itold him someone on Huntingnet had probablydone this before.
