What is cooler? x box or PS2
 

My girlfriend asked what I want for christmas, I want to know which is cooler X-box or play station 2. I haven't had a video game system since super nintendo? I can't remember the spelling. It was along time ago. So what system is better, I want one that won't be replaced in 6 months by something newer and faster.

id say the ps2, the controls are a ton easier to learn. nut i do believe that they are making a ps3? if i heard right anyways. but still, the ps2 imo is better than xbox. they have a greater game selection as well.

the deception, i wish everyone knew how much better xbox is i have both an the only good games on the ps2 i have ever played on it is the gta series and the internet play for ps2 sucks i would much rather pay for xbox live it rules you can do a lot more there are hunting games on xbox and they are better i have cabelas 2004 season and it rules. also halo and halo 2 those two games beat every game out for PS2 right now, san andreas is good i like it alot but it gets old quick. the halo 2 xbox live play kicks ass and never gets old. enough said

It depends what you like, If you like total combat games then xbox is your system, But if you like hunting and gta get ps2 cause they have hunting games. I would get xbox because its faster, More memory, Great online service, Halo 2, And you can link 2 xboxes together with the link and have a 4-4 game with your friends.

X-BOX...handsdown....Halo or Halo2 are the only games I have and I'm still not tired of Halo. The linking on X-box is a great feature,

Halo 2 is way overrated.
Half-Life 2 is way better, its on PC.

I'd probably get Xbox. But PS2 has a lot of good games.

I can easily see how you think Halo 2 is overrated if you play it only on campaign. Get 8 guys playing each other (when all 8 have the levels memorized) and its awesome!

id get a ps2. i have both personally and to be honest i dont play my xbox that much. the only games i even like on the xbox is halo (and 2) and morrowind. although the xbox has a little more power since it was released a year later the ps2 is a great system and a much better game selection. plus halo is getting tiring. bungie did HORRIBLE on halo 2. they totally messed up the story. I dont know how they are gonna make the next book good with that plot. And as for halo2 on xbox live... its fun but ive gotten tired of it. Id rather get a ps2 and have better sports games, hunting games, and overall better games. Ps2 also is a great system for military/war games. Call of Duty was a lot better using the ps2.

I like both but i like my PS2 more. At the time when i was trying to figure out what I wanted to buy (PS2 and Xbox), the ps2 was cheaper but haven't regret getting it yet.

xbox is way cooler than ps2 with halo and halo2 and everything plus you can play gta on xbox too but you cant play halo2 on ps2 just think about that.:eek:

i have both and i like xbox way beter not only because of the halo games but because of everything since it has a harddrive you dont need a memory card and u can download cds onto it and listen to them plus therer is a bunch of fun games for both but i liek xbox better once you get used to the contolers they are way better than than ps2 and xbox live is really fun. i play counter strike a bit too and that is fun and deer season 2005 or whatever it is called

ok, first off what good hunting games are there on ps2, that arent on xbox too. i have only seen a few and they sucked royally.

i like this thread its fun to read[8D]. having played both xbox and ps2 i would chose the xbox. not just bcuz i own it but for a # of reasons.
1. free to play 4 players. ps2 u have to pay for a little thing u plug in that lets u hook up 4 players
2. it has a hard drive with space so u dont have to buy memory cards to save ur game
3. xbox can copy ur cds to its hard drive and u can then play any cd u have copied to it where ever u go.
4. xbox can link together for a total of 8 people playing against each other or on the same team.
5. ps2 graphics suck.

u might want to read the game mags and see when the new xbox is coming out b/c if its soon it would b worth waiting for the new version. [either way u will probly like it better than the ps2]

and i agree with mastajon there aren't any good hunting games on ps2 that arent on xbox

i worked in a nerd store for awhile (so i suppose i am a nerd in the off season) but all the nerds that came in said xbox, i say it depends on what you like, i would get a ps2 for gta san andreas, but xbox for football and racing games better controls, faster load times and whatnot tough decision if you ask me thats why i just stick with computer, the hunting games are way better on here anyways

I own both systems and the are both pretty equal straight off the self.

However, the XBox with a mod chip is god.. literally. If you can aford to spend about an extra $150 after the original purchase on a chip and larger HD then you should definately get an XBox. You can rent games and rip them straight to your XBox(can hold about 30-40 games on a 120 GB HD) then play them without the CD. So what you would normally spend on 1 game you can get 10 rentals and rip them onto your XBox. Some mod chips have optional external switches so you can turn off the chip to play on XBox live aswell with games you bought. There are also a ton of other things you can do with a modded XBox like play all the older system(NES, SNES, etc) roms.

PS2 I really only use because GTA:SA rocks. Currently its only available on the PS2(although around June they will be releaseing GTA:SA for the XBox and PC aswell)

Personally I like X-Box better. Mostly just because of the controller layout. There's no L1, L2, R1 and R2. It's just L and R which is a lot easier to use. That and Halo 1 & 2 are really cool.

Xbox because of its features such as 4-16 players online and with a systemlink, plus you can download your music onto xbox which is very cool. I have ps2 which is cool too but basically ps2 isnt free because you have to buy an internet adapter. Xbox on the other hand offers free months with almost every xbox live game you play. Gta san andreas is coming out for xbox soon.
