Countdown to my first elk season
 

For a twelve year old this is a huge event in my life. Only 71 days till the opener and the supense is killing me. My family and I went up in the black hills this evening looking for places for me to hunt, and a place to go camping this weekend and do some scouting for my cow elk. It was pretty exciting after we ran into a herd of about thirty cows. I can't wait till this weekend to do some scouting and the chance to see some more elk, wether bulls or cow. And I also can't wait for my first elk hunt. THis is going to be so cool. My dad says he is just as excited for me, but I dont think that is possible. He has elk hunted a few times when we were stationed in Utah, but has not shot an elk yet. I will be proud if I can get the first one in our family. Anyway, guess I should go, but I had to tell someone.

nice personally ive alawys wanted to go elk hunting myself but ive never drawen a tag but good luck and personally im countin dow the days for moose hunting :P

Nah. This is what my dad told me to do. Remember I'm only 12. 65 days left.
