DNR sucks!
What do you think about the Wisconsin DNR raising up the prices of all liscenses as much as 50%? I think that its a bunch of BS!

Also...I've seen on record that many employees of the Wisconsin DNR have violated the laws hunting/fishing/trapping violations. This tells you what kind of people the DNR hires.

I doubt the DNR would hire anyone who has violated a game and fish law. I would like to see proof of this accusation.
As to the raising of prices, inflation sucks, but it happens. All I can see someone doing is getting a massive group of sportsman to boycott hunting and fishing for a whole year, but I find it hard to beleive that anyone would do this. A lot of the money that the DNR recieves from the sportsman goes to helping conserve wildlife habitat, etc... |

and you 2 think you do know something about hunting?! this is rediculous.. these people go to school to do their job and are fully qualified to do the job... as for prices rising the dnr and other conservation organizations have been getting their funds cut for years and its starting to show... the money they do get is used to regulate and manage the game animals you THINK your so expert at hunting... stop whining and be a little appreciative of the job they do!

Everyone is entitled to their own oppinions. All I've seen from you since you became a part of our community is nagativity. I know this is probably me being a tad bit judgmental, but please, we don't need comments like 'shove it' in here. Civil conversations = cool. 'Shove it = Not Ok. Please, I know you can have a civil conversation without attacking someone. Professor stated his opinion, and whether you agree with it or not you don't need to be rude. And Professor, no where did Chase say that he was an expert hunter. He was, just as you were, stating his opinion. He may not like the DNR in his state, I don't exactely like mine, but we do have to live with it. Don't jump down his throat because he is either misinformed are uninformed. Thanks guys. ;) |

hey im apologizing here for being rude. and i think that PROFESSOR should scrutinize his information before ranting around telling ME to check my information. look it up in the wisconsin state journal on the internet about chuck horn and another dnr warden getting caught trapping beaver before season. thankx and i apologize again

All right, I have some comments to make. Professor, in my opinion, you need to tone it down a few notches and quit being so abrasive. People are entitled to the right of free speech according to the constitution of the United States of America. If Chase wants to believe that the DNR is not doing thier best, he is entitled to. And, if what he says is true about the head honcho of it being caught poaching, he has made a really good point. However, I see nowhere in his posts that he states or even insinuates that he is an expert on hunting. Now, I am not going to agree or disagree that they are a bunch of pansies because I don't know them all. But oh well, I just wanted to bring up a few important points. Just trying to help out. Please take my advice and chill out for a while. Try agreeing with people for once. BB

here in north dakota they raised alot of the prices but not as much as 50%. just like a couple dollars for each licence. its really not that bad. but i am dissapointed that i am not under 16 so i have to buy all of the licenses and pay twice as much for deer licenses.

WDNR In WI. Is Now Gonna Do Earn A Buck Thats Gay As Heck,
And Also Instead Of Some People Getting 2 Turkey Tags, Now There Gona Sell Then 12$ Over Counter For Remaning Tags Thats Gay To A Point. WDNR Is Way Short On Money, In Shawano County They Cut The AirplaneThing, Driving Around Looking For Poachers What Not, Now Theyt Fill Up One Time And It Last Em A Week. And Other Things, Altho I See On Turkey Season So Far They Have Caught Many Paochers, Take There Guns Turkey Revoke Lisense For 3 Years, But In The End WDNR Is Some What Good And Other Ways They Suck, After All There Is More Turkeys Now :D |

i agree totally turkeyhunter...but i didnt know about the turkey thing..and yes there are a lot more turkies in the past few years! its awesome...but i dont think that they should raise the prices up that high though...what do you think about the option of having the longer deer season? i dont personally like the idea but hey its just an opinion...i like the whole 9 day thing because its more of a challenge to get deer then

But Then They Raised The Turkey Tag Price This Year 18.75$ From I Think 16 Something. Got A Turkey Today, And It Was Worth The Tag. Only Prob Turkey Is About A 200$ One Got camo This Year And Shells Calls lol. |

The WI DNR has been under funded for years, then CWD killed off a lot of their income during the 2000-2001 seasons before people understood what it was, and what was happening. Yes, the price raises suck, but it's a nessisary evil if you want the DNR to be able to function.
I also dislike the "earn a buck" system, but I understand why it is nessisary. That doesn't mean I agree with it though. Go ahead and complain about the prices - but I feel no sympathy. I pay out the wazzoo for out-of-state. |

Earn A Buck In Our Zone Is Gay,
Since Last Deer Season It Seems Like Theres Way Less Deer Then Last Spring. I Used To See Them All Over Hunting Turkeys Only Seen 3. Going To Youth Group Used To See Lots, Never See But A Few. And Also With Earn A Buck People Are Gona Shoot First baldy They See. That Means Theres Gona Be Young Bucks Shot. That Will Be Big Bucks Years To Come. |

Sounds like the EARN-A-BUCK program is doing exactly what it is supposed to in your area, lower the overall deer population, and more specificly improve the buck/doe ratio. Shooting a nubbin buck accidentally while trying to fill a doe tag is better than shooting a little fork horn on purpose.
I am also in EAB zone for the past two years and it has been great! I've seen more and bigger bucks than ever before as has most of the hunters in our area.There are still plenty of deer around and with each doe usually having twins, you will see even more by late summer. Next year should be even better as all of those little 6's and 8's will now be nice bucks. I hate to see young hunters like yourself badmouthing the DNR. Without them you probably wouldn't have a chance to deerhunt because people would have shot them all. Be thankfull you get a chance to hunt. Be thankful that you can be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. |

I don't like it that you wil be able to buy turkey tags over the counter because there will be a dramatic decrease in birds by the year after.

you apply for one.. and then any extras will be 4 sale after drawings
Some People Get 2 Tags Any Ways. So Its Still Gona Be Same Amount Of Birds Killed If Not A Lil More Then less Depends On The Hunters. So Really It Dont Matter If They Sell The Extras If They Dont Us Hunters will sometimes get 2. so really i will be same amount of birds.[>:] |

ic..last night i went to a dnr meeting for unit 73d for deer hunting cuz there is too much crop damage...they're thinkin about putting coupons on the tags...like the landowner gets up to $11 for each deer shot on their land by someone else
