orlando church thing
i was wondering if any of you are going to that christian convention in orlando this july/august. im going with our youth group.

what is it called exactly??? need more info... I know our church isnt going... we are going to the challenge national conference in salt lake this year, as well as to new orleans for a missions trip... not to mention all the other little trips... anyway though I'd like to hear more about it... how big is it(how many people approx)? what is it about?? is it for specific denominations?? or what?? whatever you know I'd be interested in hearing....

its simply called "the gathering" i guess. it is for youth. supposedly 50,000 teenagers are going and chaperones are not included. it is for christians. it is just to bring u closer to God. thats all i know.

Ok here is some info on the Challenge conference... it is run by the EFCA and is more geared toward evangelical free church people... I don't know what denomination you are, but it doesnt really matter... anyone can really go... it does cost money though.... you stay at a college in the dorms usually... I think they are putting people up in hotels this year though...and they are using the Salt Palace Convention Center for the rally place... it is from the 4-9th of july this year... it has always been a very interesting and life changing experience for most people... they have awesome Godly men and women come to speak, and they have chris tomlin leading the worship time... I dont know if you have heard of the band called lost and found.. but they always show up for a while too... the conference is held every other year, and in a different location every time... some of my best memories, closest friendships and, life changing realizations have come out of these conferences... unfortunatly I will not be able to attend this year... I am in college now, and a youth leader, but our church also goes to new orleans every year on a missions trip.... I decided I could not do both trips because I need to work as much as possible this summer, and N.O. is where I think I could be best used...
