I have just been thinking latly (not like i am going to quit hunting) but if an anti approached you what would you say? also what would you say to a veg.? i am j.w all opions welcome

first of all i wouldnt associate myself with people like that.. Earlier this year, my school had a thing in my school. It was Fund for Animals in my school putting ideas into the kids minds.... i didnt sit there and listen. as soon as the guy said i am with the Fund for Animals foundation, i said fuhgetaboudit and i walked out of the auditorium. the prinicipal asked me as i was leaving where i was going, i said i'm a hunter not a bullsh*t artist... and he told me just leave.... its bull i cant believe my school district would approve something like this

my response would depend on what the anti or vegan said to me 1st. If they took a calm approach then I would to but. But if they do things like they usally do I be my usaual self and give em piece of my mind and not calmly.

if one came up to me and asked why i hunted I would say becuz of tradition. I was brought up hunting. And I have the right to. And those left wing tree hugging liberals always say meat is murder or hunting is murder. My answer to that is the Jesus said that we the humans have dominion over the fish in the sea and the fowl in the air. Therefore its not murder its a means of survival

Well, your going to, in my opinion ask where they got their views on hunting. That is a great start. You also might want to make sure the anti knows that hunting is not only about the kill. In my opinion the kill is just bonus. It is the hunt that can be a magical time for you.

Also, Squirrelhunter91 don't be so quick to degredade animal foundations. Some of the best animal foundations are based off of hunting: Ducks Unlimited, NWTF, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation etc. Before making snap judgments on these groups listen to what they have to say. More groups than you know are just out to teach youth about wildlife. Don't forget hunters are one of the biggest allies that wildlife organizations and conservation groups have. We want to pass on our outdoor traditions on to others.

On the few occasion that I've been approached I've used the Golden Rule and treated them as I expected to be treated . Only one ridiculed me for hunting , so I shot her ... j/k ! ;)

We still didn't see eye to eye , but I didn't have to shoot them either . They do tend to suffer badly from misconceptions about our sport .

i kno about all those organizations and how they teach about wildlife and all. but did you kno that hunting licenses contribute the most money to DEC each year than any other means of money supplies? if they are so concerned about the animals they are trying to save, they should get off their anti-asses and do something about it. They contribute ZERO to the Department of Conservation. Why dont they help the animals they are trying to save by donating some money or at least buying a habitat stamp?

lol i love it when i hear them talkin howbad hunting is i start talkin very loud about my hunting stories to my friends and also if they tell me that huntin's bad t tell them to **** off and if they dont leave lets just say i brused my knuckles

i actually have some best friends that are veggie... they let me live the way i want to live and i let them live the way they want to... if i don't want them pushing their ideas off on me why should i do it to them?

Here are some of the ones from that thread...

if they are vegans ask them why they have canine teeth? If they are not vegans then tell them you feel guilty for hiring assasins to kill their meat for you and prefer to kill your food for your self. Ask them how does it feel to be an assasin?
humans eyes are at the front of there head, an animal that is prey (ie: cow, deer, elk, sheep, pig, etc...) has their eyes on the side. the eyes on the side are to look for predators. they eyes on the front of a head are for hunting, that is, they help get depth perception when pouncing on animals. that is basic anatomy or a predator/prey.

also, every farm field out there destroys habitat that was once for wildlife. cornfields used to be trees or green fields. if they wear cotton, trees had to be cut down and natrual vegetation destroyed to grow those plants that provide cotton for their shirt. if they wear plastic shoes instead of leather, petroleum goes into the production of plastics and that has "raped" the earth. oil tankers occasionally spill oil into the ocean killing fish, birds adn marine mammals. the land pumps interrupt and stop some of the typical wildlife patterns in those areas.

just simply tell them that you believe there is room for all gods creatures on earth.....right next to the baked taters and grenn beans

If they are meat eaters, I would say "The only difference between you and I is that I do my own killing of the meat I eat" and if they are non meat eaters I would say "There is no higher authority than god, it is an american tradition, and done so according to the laws of our land"...

Tell them you like a low-fat meat that has been fed the absolute most natural untampered with/non-manmade ingredients. And you also want to be sure it was butchered & prepared to your high standards.

Tell them you're going to kill something this weekend. Then ask them if they would rather you stay in town...
