i would suggest the remington 870 express. i love mine. i got the 20 gauge model b/c i do pheasant and rabbit hunting plus deer so it is easier 2 carry than a 12. if all u r going 2 do is deer and maybe sum pheasant get the 12.

Remington 870 wingmaster 20 gauge (with magnum receiver for 3 inch shells) great gun and you can hunt everything from deer to ducks with it.

I would use a slug gun but it is your opnion so just use whatever your dad will let u

12/20 ga. 870,1100 or 1187 are probaly the top deer guns

redhawk thats exactly how i started with a single shot 410 then i got an 870 express
