the hunters of the next generation

if you have read the last forum i wrote you may comment on all the stories of your hunts whether you guided yourself or had a adult i dont care if you are a youth hunter you are already one step closer to becoming a hunter of the next generation you dont need to be very skilled i know i am far from being a professional but if you sleep, live, and breath hunting like i do you are a hunter and you should be proud.

Although I don't sleep, live, and breathe hunting, (I have a husband, a baby, and I'll be starting my second year of college.) I do take hunting very seriously.

It's good to learn as much as you can about hunting, and the weapons you use to hunt. It' also good to do as much as you can to get other people interested. Although hunting is stll widely accepted in this country, the number of people who actually hunt is declining.

:sheep: Remember that sheep taste terrible

agree the sight of the sunrise coming over your decoys and have that shine from the water is better then anything IMHO

I live for hunting and I agree with you guys as well. It's basically my life.

Agreed as well, or seeing a storm head move in over the blue sky making the ducks and geese fly

You know you're a hunter when you can crawl through the mud on a cold, wet day, getting burrs in your hair, (I have really long hair), and consider yourself to be having a really great time. I would have considered it great fun even if I hadn't gotten my first doe at the end of it all. :s1: The deer was delicious by the way. I don't know why some people say venison tastes "gamey." What does that mean?

:sheep: Then she had to stand in the bathtub like a six-year old while her mother combed the burrs out

huntingchick17 08-29-2009 10:42 PM

I would refer to gamey as having too much of a wild animal taste to it, some people will only eat pork or beef because of that reason. But personally, it taste just fine to me. It's really hard to explain, I am not real sure how else you would explain it.
