Default Deer Taken Away

One of my friends at school shot a 10 point this weekend. His neighbor saw him dragging it out of the woods, called the game warden and said that he shot the deer too close to his house. The whole county was at his house, they took teh deer away from him, and now whe has nothing.[:@]

what did they charge him with? evidently discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a home or business would be the charge the neighbor tried to stick him with, but how could they prove it? And unless he poached the deer I don't think they can legally confiscate it.

That's crazy! How could your neighbor confirm where your friend shot his buck? Did he see him shoot?

Cookie, check your DNR reg books and find out how close you can be to a structure when firing a weapon. If it was more than the legal range, your friend should make his case to a court or something.
