Ok that changes things a little bit, i still dont think he should have had his deer confinscated, but discharging a high-power weapon near a building is always dangerous, so if he was too close to one he deserves more then a slap on the wrist

The best way to avoid problems with GW's is, obviously, to try to follow the letter of the law. There are plenty of gray areas, but keep in mind that when you operate in a gray area, the call will likely go against you. Dunno about the exact situation with shooting too close to the house. If he was too close, then he was too close. If he wasn't then it is more the neighbor's fault than the game wardens, and I would make sure that he has a very interesting halloween[:@]
