just made longest shot with my 22
 

i was out hunting muscrats and after i shot one i seen 3 that were about 150 yrds away. i decided to take a shot. the 1st one missed but the second one i seen him flip off the edge of the ice and i walked over there to see if i hit him and sure enough i hit him right behind the head. part of it was just luck i think. i am real consistant at shots about 30 to 50 yrds. well that was the longest shot i have made with my 22. i have taken longer with my deer rifle

Pretty good shot :D Don't' remember my longest shot with an .22 but i know some were over 100yards.

Nice. I cant believe u guys are saying u havent taken shots that long with ur rifles. I shot a spike 2 years ago at like 260 yards.

ya that is considered sniping with 22. I have never come close to a shot like that with my 22. Yes i have taken long shots at deer and elk before but this was only because they spotted me and i wasn't going to get any closer. As for the comment that "i can't believe u guys, i shot a spike at 260 yards." Um well here is my logic why take a long shot if you don't have to. Why not use your hunter skills and get the animal closer or get closer to the animal. I think more bragging rights go to the guys that can keep all there shots at 100 yards rather than the guys that pull off long shots. This shows they are excellent hunters. I personally don't think it would have been to difficult to get 100 yards closer to that spiker, they are dumber than heck. I would have been far more impressed with that. just my opinion....oh and another thing to keep in mind when u shoot an animal pace it off or use a rangefinder. Then you know exactly how far it was rather than guestimating. every animal i get i pace it off when i walk up to the critter then write the distance on the back of the picture so i never get mixed up.....
