I don't read many books, I prefer magazines.:D But if a book will keep my attention after the first page I'll start reading it.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins by Scot O'Dell 1960 Newberry Award winner.

Story about a young girl that is left by her tribe on an island when they flee an impending attack. The girl has to make her own weapons and learns to hunt and fish.
