gotta be careful bout using slugs outside of deer season! in illinois the only thing you can use a slug to hunt for is deer! anything else is illegal. but you can use a slug to shoot hem during deer season and i have taken out 6 while in my deer stand in the past 2 years. i usually use a .22 or a 7mm for the yotes, when i just hunt them. since they are yotes i dont eat them so if they run off with them .22 i can usually find them a little ways away, but sometimes they get into there dens, and i know they will die down there! but that 7mm. knocks them on the @ZZ!!! nothing better than yousing there own kind as an attract LIVE yotes to join there friends!:D

I'll have to check the regulations but i don't think there are any restrictions on ammo for Yotes.

This is all it says- Coyote - No daily bag limit. If hunted during the deer gun season, hours are the same as for deer gun season.

And then this:
Persons hunting coyotes or wild boar during the statewide muzzleloader deer season must have a deer permit that is valid for the zone or unit in which they hunt. However, you may also hunt coyote and wild boar during the statewide muzzleloader deer season with shot no larger than #4 without a valid deer permit.

yep thats what ours says to. but you got to look in some weird section i forgot what section that says its illegal at least in illinois, but i dont have the book with me so i cant even look![:@]

dont get me wrong i know many a people that hunt yotes with slugs in our area. and honestly the warden is rarely ever aroound and i doubt that he cares since some one saw him caring a loaded SLUG gun out and came back to his truck a few hours later with 3 yotes!
