ice fishing today
 

I went out with my dad this morning and I caught two 15 inch whitefish. They arent huge but enough for a taste. These are my first lake whitefish. I was fishing with a wireworm loaded with maggots in 4 feet of water. I took advantage of the shallow water and spot fished. I saw about 10 (probally saw the same fish more than once), hooked three and landed these two. lol these tiny perch would swim up to my wireworm and to suck my maggots off and when they scatter get ready because a whites coming in. I had one dart at my wireworm, miss the bait and do a 360 and come for it a second time I also had a pike line out with a smelt on it. Only bad thing that happened today was a pike took me rod down the hole lol we looked up now and then to see how the other rods were doing and one time my dad took a glance to see if the line was doing anything and the rod was gone.

nice fish!!! my brother and i go ice fishing but not very often. when we do go i enjoy it a lot
