OPENING MORNING SUCESS!!!

Heres the story. I sat in the ground blind with bow in hand, ready to call one up as soon as the sun peaked above the horizon. I heard plenty of gobblers, but they were not coming to a call. About 9 I decided to do a little runnin' and gunnin' (I brought the shotgun along just incase this situation came about;)) So I grabbed the 870 and left the bow behind. I knew where the group was so I walked as far as I could...then it turned to crawling on my hands and knees...then when I got some tall grass between me and the birds, it turned to belly crawling. I got within about 50 yards of them and gave a few light calls. I had 3 really nice toms walk up within 3 yards of me! But the camera wasn't in postion so I didnt shoot. They walked on by and this guy was bringin up the rear:DAnd the best part...I got it all on film:)

He was barely over 21 pounds. 3/4" and 1" Spurs. And a 7 3/8 beard

We roosted 13 gobblers and 10 hens yesterday!

Well we went to the spot where we seen one struting and one had a beard draggin the gorund!

We got in there..mad a Owl Hoot.....no response...then 3 Owls went off the walls and 2 gobblers were responding!

We got set up at 5:45.....started purring....bam...here they came!

Came straigh in but couldn't get a shot....they went down into a hollow and gobbles their heads off!!

We quit calling...so they would come to us...15mins later there was one walking left and another came out from behind us and was heading towards the other.

The Left Walker gobbled...His head cam back up and BAM...the Russian 12ga. 3 1/2 did the trick

Too bad my cameraman didn't show or else we would be watching awesome footage!
