arrow groupings???
I am shooting at 10 yards and i am a newbie to bowhunting i am trying to get read for season, and i shot these groups 2 of these pictures i new were bad as soon as i let go of the release but the others, i am not sure if they are good at 10 yards or not. Also if you notice the first shot is always closer than the second shot, could that be because i am not as relaxed as i was on the first shot?
thanks mike <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa101/millerhunter13/100_4014.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa101/millerhunter13/100_4012.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa101/millerhunter13/100_4011.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa101/millerhunter13/100_4010.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa101/millerhunter13/100_4009.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> |

RE: arrow groupings???
i am thinking that those two shots were just bad luck shots, cause all the others were MUCH closer.
|
RE: arrow groupings???
i think there good and its time to increase your distance if possible go to maybe 15 then 20
|
RE: arrow groupings???
yes you should deffinatly back up. i can shoot a six shot group at 40 yards and the fletchings touch
|
RE: arrow groupings???
i am gonna pracitce 20 tommor hopefully i dont have alot of room to practice but a neighbor is gonna let me shoot at hishouse so i am gonna call him tommorw and practice longer ranges.

RE: arrow groupings???
Just keep shooting man.. Move her back and stay focused. When you switch to a real broad head you will probably have to do some fine tuning. I've put a lot of arrows through mine in the past few days gettin ready for elk on saturday. Once you get good start moving the target around and do situational shootings. It will be tough for you, but on my property I am able to move all over the place. Shoot through small windows, up hill down hill.. every type of shot you could face in the woods is good to practice for. I'm tired of cutting my fletchings off though. Arrows are not cheap, and I'm messing them up haha.. Damn thunder heads..

RE: arrow groupings???
i was shooting broadheads today and they were shooting the same as the field points i dont have to move the sight or nothing, but i havnt shot the broadheads at 20 yards yet, they might need some tuning then.

RE: arrow groupings???
that sucks for 10 yards i will robin hood an arrow evertime at 10 yardfs.
|
RE: arrow groupings???
I'm sure you did that when you first started shooting huh.. I would robin hood my shots at 20 and 30 yards however carbon arrows don't split like a wood one could they just hit and bounce... Impressive.. Don't be such a turd!
|
RE: arrow groupings???
i have been shooting alot since those shots and have gotten better at consistency and i dont have bad groups like i did a couple times above, i still didnt shoot at 20 yards yet, i planning on today my neighbor wasnt home for me to shoot.
|
RE: arrow groupings???
you could also make your target that your shooting at smaller "Aim small, miss small" believe me that works also when u start shooting all over the place just quit it means your getting tired and if you keep shooting all your going to get is frustrated.
|
RE: arrow groupings???
Couple of good tips right there.. you dont literally hafta make your target smaller just focus hard on that bullseye and pretend it's the only thing saving your arrow from going off someplace and getting lost...
|
RE: arrow groupings???
ok well if you look at that target it was beat to deathe so i got one tonite at gander mountain, i have to work tommorow but, i should get some shooting in l8r in the afternoon and me and my friend are gonnna plan to do some shooting with our bows on sunday thanks for all the information and help.

LOL, stop being a prick, thats BS, u will not robinhood it everytime at 10 yards, stop kidding yourself and tell him his groups could be a bit better but dont tell him his groups suck then lie about yours dude, and if u think im gettin on u for nothing tape yourself robin hooding a few arrows from 10 yards, lmao... |
RE: arrow groupings???
actually i just measured it out and i was shooting at 44 feet which is 14.6 yards so i was shooting farther then i thought.
