PSEsniper, there is a slingshot with a sight on it from Burnett. I found it works quite well. It also has 3 stabilizers on it. My secret for taking rabbits and squirrels is to walk real slow and be very quiet. On rabbits try to go for heads shots. Hope this helped.

I shot a squirrel with a slingshot once but it was too far a shot.[:' (] There is a slingshot made for hunting small game. its called the stealth hunter and they have it at budkww.com. just do a search for slingshots and you should be able to find it.;)

i am good with slingshots, the secret is practice. start from ten feet against a soda can and everytime you hit it step back one step, practice is the key!
good luck!

I dont hunt with a sling shot but my grandpaw used to.He could kill
a rabbit running and still shoot it right in the head.

RE: SLINGSHOTS

I used to hunt rabbits with a wrist rocket sling shot when I lived in Spain. (Almost impossible to get a gun there and the number of rabbits hopping around prove it.) They have a kind of jackrabbit there that lives in ground burrows.

I would set up a nice place to sit on a piece of carpet in the shade from a bush about 25 feet downwind from the rabbit holes. Put a nice steel or lead shot in the pocket of the sling shot and take up the tension. Don' t pull it all the way back, but take the flop out of the bands. Relax. Try to be as still as possible. I usually only had to wait about 10 minutes, but these rabbits were pretty dumb. Still 10 minutes when it is 110 degrees in the shade is no picnic.

When you see a rabbit pop it' s head out of the hole, wait. It is too hard to hit just the head. Wait for the whole rabbit to hop out. It will look right at you a couple of times. Just be really still. If you have to blink, do it slowly and deliberately. Once they are looking in the other direction, draw, aim and fire, shooting for the main body mass. If you are using a good ball bearing or lead slug you have a good chance of either killing them or at least stunning them enough to run over and grab him.

Two factors for success: 1) Be smooth on your cock and aim. I prefer to hold the pocket still and push the slingshot away from me, extending my left arm to cock it. 2) The pocket on your slingshot should be deep, not just a flat piece of plastic or leather. I ended up gluing a piece of string in a ring in the middle of the pocket to hold the ball. Use rubber cement. If you don' t do this, the ball will get terrible spin and end up curving in flight.

Mmm, I can still taste them, fried in green olive oil and garlic with a side of fried green banana peppers with salt.
