ORIGINAL: Shootstuff4570 yeah dont get the probe. my bro had one and it wasnt a very good car. get some beater truck with 4 wheel drive and have fun! |
RE: cars
Probes have major fuel injection and tranny problems. Id stick with a small beater truck thats 4x4.
|
RE: cars
If you're into hunting, get a four wheel drive.
(Girls like four wheel drives - giggle.):D |
RE: cars
I agree with daddyslittlegirl. Go with a pickup, they will get around a lot better when you are hunting. Trust me, I know:)
|
RE: cars
you can get a full sized, 4wd used truck that is 15 ish years old for well under 4 grand.
|
RE: cars
Whoa, i need to start buying some trucks here and selling them to you guys for under $4k lol.
bought a 1998 f250 lariat that was only 4 years old at the time, for $6100. 1993 gmc 3500, turbo diesel, $2800. And those are the most two expensive trucks we've ever bought. If you want something thats 4wd, I'd look towards and SUV. better mpg, shorter wheel base for 4x4ing in tight spots, not light in the rearend like a PU. Lots more room. |
RE: cars
i woud take a truck but i want kinda want somethingsmall and quick
|
RE: cars
the main reason i said an early 90's full size truck is because of the availability of parts. 350's, 302's and available at literally any junk yard, and they are very reliable motors. And they can go plenty quick, which shouldnt really be one of your concerns.
I can pull a 3000 lb boat 75 - 80 mph anywhere I want to go and still get 12 - 13 mpg. If I hook up the same boat to my 2001 s-10, I struggle to hold 60, and go from close to 30 mpg, down to about 14. |
RE: cars
You should really consider gettinga Honda... they are really good on gas... also they are a pretty trustworthy vehicle.. i had a 94 honda as my first car and i wouldnt trade it for the world... :)
|
RE: cars
Gas wise the Kia Rio is good too
|
RE: cars
my brothers probe was always having problems with it. like the tranny, and the clutch(it was a manual) so he had to get a whole new clutch. he also had other problems with like the alternador belt. i cant remember wut all was wrong. but i know he had quite a few problems
|
RE: cars
get a beater truck and do that beater around
|
RE: cars
If you are into hunting, dirtbikeing, fourwheeler get a truck most of my friends have car and they hate them. I have a 96 f-150 4x4 and i can't even rember how many times i have used the 4x4. But if gas is a issue do get any a v8 truck. You can buy a ford ranger v6 or 4 banger pretty cheap. Good luck finding a vechicle don't chose to quick
|
RE: cars
if you really want to save money get an old junker and fix it up
|
RE: cars
fianlly someones on! im at school so thats why |
RE: cars
I just bought a 95 civic, rebulit V-TECH, strut stabalizer bar, cold air intake, short shift and euro lights for under 3000 Canadian. I reccomend hondas all the way. Afforable, tough and parts are cheap. An accord would be perfect, here in Nova Scotia the Accords have almost no resale value and a good one can be bought dirt cheap.
|
RE: cars
If you want a 4X4 and decent gas milage i would look at a jeep cherokee, you can get the older ones for around $1000-$2500, but look under it and check the floor boards cause they are very prone to rust, especially ones from a climate with snow, all the salt will really do a number on the floor boards. I have an 89 cherokee with 3 inch lift and 31X10.50 tires, it was only $1400 lift and tires included and after i replaced a few parts it runs good.

RE: cars
4x4 look at rangers or s10 if your wanting to stay "reasonable" on gas.
honda civic and 6cyl camaros can be found cheap if your wanting to stay with a car for mileage |
RE: cars
Rangers. Sonoma's, S10's. if you get a sonoma or s10, get a ZR2 package! [/align] [blockquote][/blockquote] |
RE: cars
look for a nice little 4x4 ranger or s10 great on gas and still get around great
|
RE: cars
If you want something smaller and quick, get an S10. Mine has the V6 4.3L and is plenty quick and has the benefit of a pickup box so I can haul stuff. It is a 2WD and I get 18 to 19 MPH in town and about 24 on the highway. It cost me $3000 and only had 62,000 miles on it.
|
RE: cars
If your going to spent money you might as well by the best, egt a TOYOTA TACMOA. Good milage and they last for ever. Pluss thier the best looking truck on the road.
|
RE: cars
isuzu rodeo " suv" or isuzu pup " pickup" we had an 87 pup with a 4 banger, 5 speed, 4x4 and got 24mpg. Great running truck and very comfortable inside and the ride was comfortable. I have a 92 rodeo and if you keep it a 65 you'll get a little over 26mpg, and that is a 4x4 also. They are both awesome for off roading. 4-low will just crawl.
