I use a permanent sometimes, but usually climb up trees in my Ol Man Original Climber.

To me a treestand is much better you can move more then usual and the deer cant smell you b/c you are above them. I use one almost every time I'm in the woods. Last night was the only time this year when I've hunted from the ground and that was because my dad had a headache and didn't hunt and I didn't want to go to my normal spot without him around because it's about a mile from camp. I use a treestand because I like to get high on hunting <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I always hunt from a treestand and almost always well 99% of the time from my Summit Cobra xls. Its easier to buy one stand a climber and pick and choose your tree so that u can move with the deer
