If you do get up in a stand be sure and wear a safety belt. And if covers really thick, you really don't need a scope. Scopes are for longer ranged shots.

Whats cheap about hunting in a stand with a rifle? geez ahunterinX1 just because someone doesn't hunt the same methods as you doesn't mean yu have to degrade them. Not everyone has open country to stalk deer.

i say if you are responsible enough yes. If you make sure you know you target and what is behind it. Don't just shoot at movement or sound. I agree with Fro make sure you use a good safety belt! and be careful, too many people are not paying attention and falling out of there tree.

thats an ignorant comment ahunter, I agree with huntingfool, what is cheap about hunting in a stand, that you have to learn where scrapes and rubs are, you have to learn deer movement, where they feed, where they bed, etc to have proper stand placement I dont think its better then spot and stalk just different. I think that its ok killmantim as long as your ethical and legal.

Ok A hunter you are really starting to piss me off!!! We don't understand deer hunting because we hunt in a treestand with a rifle. Gee whiz how many people do you think hunts in a treestand with a freakin rifle???? A TON!!!!! God not everyone hunts just like you. The terrain is a lot different in most states then cali, just don't degrade our way of hunting. If you don't have anything nice to say, just shut the hole in your face. GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allright dude. Not only are you accusing our deer out east to be stupid now, but your saying that one of the most common methods of hunting is not used. I will run a poll for everyone to see how many people on this board use a rifle and a treestand. God dang you are ignorant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You think your the F***** SH** dont you, well boo hoo cry me a river california is tough terrian, im sure it is, try hunting when its - 30c in the rockies up here in alberta, or maybe in the the same temp but in forests so thick you cant see your feet, or in coulees so deep and hilly walking 5 miles is like really 10 b/c of all the ups and downs. Also from my experience where deer are hunted more like out east they are smarter. not saying ones in the west are dumb seeing as how I hunt the ones in the west also, but Sh** im gettin pissed i cant stand it when if you dont hunt a persons style, its the wrong way.
