Should I stay or should I go?
 

Hey guys, i've got a school concert tonight and i play snare drum. The concerts in an hour and a half but im really not sure if i should go. Ya see, i dont really know the 10 pieces that were going to play because i have no music to practice, so i figure if i go then i'd just make the band look bad because this is a very serious concert that we're doing. But then if i dont go i dont get the 50 points for band class. so its kinda like A)go, "freestyle"- goof up the band or make us look bad...or B)dont get the grade.

what should i do?!

Definatly go. If you're part of a band you have to show up. If you dont know, play really lightly and act like you know everything.

I know what you mean im in my schools band and mawe have have a marching band that every one in band is required to do(Im a drummer also) and we have 2 3 hour rehersals while the band only has 1 2 hour rehearsal plus the class time and we also play at home games and a competition every saturday until this saturday is that last. It wastes my time i'd like to not go but i fail one more class and i dont graduate on time so i dont go i fail so i have to go/ and the competitions take the whole day it gets annoying...

[ul][*]Unless you're the only snare player you have NOTHING to worry about...go, stand up there like you know what you're doing and smile( just move your hands and don't play)...If you are the only snare. Do the same thing...and next time get yourself some music to practice!!!:)

yeah..i went. luckily the juniors know how to play..they were loud enough to cover up the band not to mention me. haha, but yeah...not i gotta get some music.

that is such a catchy song... . dang man go. even if you aren't that good you need to pull your weight. just have fun. It doesn't matter if you screw up that bad the audience doesn't know what's written on your music. unless of course you guys are going to have a clinic.... ...oo that could turn out tragic.:(
