Either way would be fine by me

To be honest with you,I don't thinka doe will not win the contest. It may help the teams that do not get any bucks (if that happens), but it won't help the teams that get bucks.

I honestly think that a doe should be worth more than 1 - 5 points.

How degrading to the animal is that?

A buck is going to score anywhere from 50 - 200 points relatively speaking and yet because of what they are we're only going to award 1 - 5 points per doe?

That just seems wrong to me, but if that's how y'all want to run the contest then that's fine.

yeah i'm gonna have to second that. that just doesn't seem right for the a doe to count so much less than a buck just because it doesn't have antlers. i think 50 points would be the least amount we should count them as.

Doublelung and myself decided does will be scored as 25points. We decided on 25 because some of the bucks in this contest may score less than 50 and we dont want the doe score being higher than the buck score so we decided on 25pts per doe. Thanks for your patience.

Wash, I thought you could only shoot one deer a year. Is that true?

Now that the does count as 25 points that should help. I was told that they would only count in a tie breaker round.

Yes Zak, we're only allowed one deer per year.

However, Washington State allows hunters to put in for a drawing for a second, antlerless only deer tag. I drew one this year.

I suppose 25 points is better than 1 - 5 points, but the way you guys are thinking still throws me. You don't want a doe to score more than a buck. That still seems degrading to the animal to me. Maybe I've just grown to respect the animals a bit more, but if you shoot a buck that scores less than 50 points, well...

Just so I'm clear on this it's 1 doe per person correct? So if I get 2 doe it still counts as 25 points

RE: Points per doe?

you may regester your 1st doe kill. only one doe per person may be registered and it has to be your first doe of the year and also killed with a bow. a picture with u and deer and bow needs 2 be included for proof of the kill. a breif story of how u harvested it would also be cool. everyone enjoys reading hunting stories on here so that'd be cool to post a story of the hunt. ;)
