Where to get a lime spreader?
 

Anybody know of any contacts to rent/borrow a lime spreader in NE PA?

After doing some research Agway is charging $40/ton (10 ton min) to spread...I can get it trucked in and dumped for $420 for 24 tons...I would rather have more lime and either store it or spread it myself.

Any suggestions..

Can't really help you with that, but I am in the same boat as you, as I just cleared 35 acres of pine wood which will hold acidic soil.

Our local farmers co-ops have the tag-a-long trailers you can rent very cheap for a day. If you could get one, borrow a front loader and have your lime dumped it would be worth it.

I am putting in some food plots myself this spring, I think I am about 30 miles from you in Susq. Co.. Where is the Agway Store that delivers Lime? Will they deliver less than 24 tons? I was thinking about spreading the lime by shovel from my pick up truck. I plan to start with a food plot of about an acre. My soil test call for 2 tons of lime per.

mowman, the pickup and shovel method will work. i've done it myself.

a better way is the pickup and leafblower method. the downside is that it requires 2 people. search my old posts.
