What type corn in a feeder?
 

I've been using regular deer corn for years in my feeder but lately I've been considering using a flavored corn in my feeder during hunting season. I've seen apple flavored, berry flavored, and heard of molasses flavored corns. Has anyone used flavored corn in there feeder and found that it made a difference with the deer, and if so has anyone made there own flavored corn using jello packets? Thanks.

A friend tried some kind of flavored corn in his feeder and he said it molded easily. Don't remember what it was. If the deer ate the plain dry yellow corn in my feeder in the backyard any better I couldn't afford to feed them. Mix a few dried soybeans in with the corn for extra nutrition.

What do you guys have to give for a bag of shelled corn? Here in West va. we pay $ 380 plus tax for a 50 lb bag.

tried a couple different flavors,couldn't tell and difference in the way the deer ate it.if they eat it any better than regular yellow corn,I couln't afford it.I am up to 600lbs a mo. now.
It cost me $3.25 per 50lbs. delivered to my shed. I order a ton at the time.

You may want to try poultry scratch mix. It's cracked corn, barley, oats and wheat. The deer are gobbling it down (poultry mix ha ha). Our price in 88 lb bags is about $7 - 8 US. It might be something different that brings them in.

We've tried the apple flavored corn but apples don't grow here so the deer didn't like it.Last year I tried the molasses on the corn and the deer still seemed to like the old corn flavored corn.I do like Dan O's idea,I think I will try it.
