I use Coker oats for mi plots, they work real well when I can keep the hogs from eating the seed befor it comes up.
the coker oats are a feed oat.my extention agent said the coker 227 is the same as the buck forge oats.just cost a lot less.

Hey Tree climber, This past September when I planted my Oats,Austrian winter peas etc. I tried an old trick. I used a SCARECROW. Outfitted him with clothes that I had been wearing all weekend and hung white platic bags from his "hands". No HOG problem. I left the scarecrow in the field for about 3 weeks. Gave the seeds and young plants a chance.
