Feeding a triticle and corn mix??

wondering if it would be safe to feed triticle seed and corn mix? mostly worried about the triticle...I have access to a large amount of some corn and triticle mix (a farmers mistake). anybody know anything about feeding the triticle?

i've supplemented my food plots w/ corn for years w/ excellent results, but never heard of triticale? (i try to stay away from words i can't spell and/or pronounce, LOL!)

seriously, now i'm curious. i'll e-mail a buddy who's a wildlife manager for kdwp and see what he says about any negative side effects of this mix...

any info would be greatly appreciated. looks like they have fed it to cattle with no side affects but no real increase in weight gain. so doesn't look like it will benefit me any to feed it but won't hurt anything either. let me know what you find out. Triticale is a cross between rye and wheat i believe....

I'll answer - only because it seems no-one else will -

I Don't feed deer supplementally, but - if you do - Cereal Grains won't hurt anything - but its not likely a preferred food. Horses like spring oats and Rye - Deer tend to eat on the shoots.

When feeding deer pellets, rye, oats, wheat - or even soybeans - in the end its conditioning the deer to eat the "abnormal food source" - so I dont think it would matter if its oats, wheat, Rye - or Tritacle. - If you can get them to eat it - It will provide some nutrition.

Sorry if its not the answer that helps you.

That link didn't have much to do with triticale, try this:

Well I'm not introducing anything new, both corn and tritcale are readily available in the areas i hunt, so its not really an abnormal source of food. Lots of crop land in my area ranging from soybeans, corn, wheat, potatoes, cotton, and various other crops along with lots of native grassland. I have just started feeding deer this past year in a hope to create a safe haven for deer. I don't hunt over the feeder or anything of that sort, just trying to attract the deer and keep them on my ground. Thanks guys for the links they all have helpful info.
