fall oats
 

does anybody know the differences between varieties of fall oats, for example, Buck Forage Oats and plain old feed oats i can buy at the local feed store?

I guess the BFO stay green longer in the cold weather. I planted the regular oats this year because I could not find the BFO when I needed them. This is my first year planting oats and if the deer seem to like it I will be planting again next fall. I do think I will get the BFO next time. NorthJeff (on this forum) is the one that has told me about the BFO. Here is a link where he talks about his planting.
