too late?

To late to start a plot? I saw some pre-made seed stuff at a local hunting store. Thought it would be cool to try with all the rain we are expecting.

what do you think?

What are you planing to plant? Clovers don't do well with a fall planting in your area.

I just planted some Secret Spot in the north east yesterday. According to the planting map published by the Whitetail Institute it says not to plant a fall crop of their products. If you are inclined to try something you might try a winter wheat. I'd get in the ground asap if you're going to try.

not to late for cereal grains like Rye, Wheat or Oats.

The issue in the fall is Rainfall - if you are above average for rainfall - a fall crop is a great option.

I've had good luck planting Imperial Whitetail Clover in the fall, usually aroung Labor Day. Check with the Whitetail Institute on the planting dates in your area.

It isnt too late to plant a lot of deer goodies, turnips, rape, clover, cereal grains, that should be enough of a choice for you to try, a little early out here for cereal grains but about 3 weeks can start..good luck

It depends what needs to be done. If you have done nothing, you may want to wait until you can get a soil sample and can add lime. Lime should be applied approx. 6 months before. With that said I have had good success with fall plantings (both with lime pre applied and at seeding) in my area (south central NY). If it isn't a big area or big investment, give it a try. First I would consult with local ag agents, farmers, and/or seed reps.
