RE: Where is everyone from?
Your right Russ, I don't visit very often , but it seems when the plot work starts , I drop in off and on aswell. I don't have alot of exsperence with dirt , but have been planting plots for about 5 years now.
I live in Ontario Canada and am about 1 hour north of Toronto.
Up here I don't trust anyone and I'm about the only person that I know that plants in these parts. I always look for openings in the woods away from hunt travel tracks. I have had a great success with these type areas. I can not work up the ground real well , but clean the areas with a sye and rake them, broadcast seed and walk away. Most times I apply these areas a little heavyer then whats called for, if you have time rake in the top dirt, if not ,it seems to still grow. It seems to take 3-4 days to germinate.
I always look for damp areas with Jewel weed or Stinging nettles. The plot seems to grow well in these type areas.
Hope this helps you with me and my name...BT

I look after 2 properties. One is 1/2 an hour due south of Toronto and the other is about 3 hours north west. The climates of these two properties are so different that on one I can grow peaches and sweet cherries while the other is at the limit for corn. One has about 3 feet of snow during the winter and the other 14 feet.

Kind of funny that everyone who has replied already has their location showing . With that said, I'm from central Vermont. Some good information is exchanged here. Keep it up, it is much appreciated.
