Chicory

I'm thinking about planting some chicory. Has anyone tried it in South Carolina? How did it do and do you have any suggestions that may help me(best time to plant, location, soil and water needs). Thanks....

RE: Chicory

Check on chicory at http://www.wildlifeseeds.com/info/chickory.html and http://www.seedland.com/Merchant/mer...ode=WG-CHICORY

You may want to consider a mixure with chicory like Max-Attrack 50/50 see http://www.biggameproshop.com/tecoma...-plot-seed.htm scroll down until you see the Max-Attrack info.

RE: Chicory

chicory is a great thing to plant. Deer love it and it is really good for them. I dont know how it will work in S. Caroline, but around here it does great.

RE: Chicory

Can anyone tell me when the deer utilize the chicory? I was looking for a late winter to early summer plot high in protein. I'm not concern with hunting the plot, just something to help with body weight and racks. Thanks.....

The deer will utilize the chicory when ever they find it. Around here the stuff grows wild, and deer will eat it when ever they find it.
